This is Frontier's nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. Some Frontier packs are double wall wax-lined paper. Parsely, of course, is essential as agarnish and spice in innumerable recipes and sauces. Chopped parsley and garlic in olive oil are a Mediterranean standard. French fines herbes uses parsley, as does sauce béarnaise. Parsely smells best uncooked or quick fried in olive oil. But bouquet garni, a parsely-rich herb bundle cooked in soups, sauces or stews, is immersed in the dish for as long as it is cooked. Lebanese hummus, baba ganoush and tabbouleh make good use of parsley. Grieve's classic 'A Modern Herbal': 'The uses of Parsley are many and are by no means restricted to the culinary sphere. Starwest Herbal Fluid Extracts are made to exacting standards, such as those of the German Pharmacopoeia, with a Certified Organic grain alcohol base. This is Frontier's nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. Some Frontier packs are double wall wax-lined paper. Usedas an infusion, decoction, extract and tincture. Wild yam is a strong antispasmodic and is anti-inflammatory, thus helpful with the pain of rheumatoid arthritis, cramps, and upset stomach. Mexican Wild Yam, the related Dioscorea mexicana, is the original source of diosgenin, the steroidal saponin used for contraceptive hormone manufacture. Wild yam is helpful with the nausea of pregnant women and dysmenorrhoea. Another compound, dioscoretine, has been shown to lower blood triglycerides and to raise HDL ('good') cholesterol. An extract of wild yam was found to have antioxidant properties. Grieve's classic 'A Modern Herbal': 'Much saponin has been found in the roots, and a substance improperly called dioscorein, obtained by precipitating the tincture with water.' 'Medicinal Action and Uses: Antispasmodic. Perhaps the best relief and promptest cure for bilious colic, especially helpful in the nausea of pregnant women. The Hericium erinaceus Kit contains everything you need, including the source mushroom culture, to begin cultivating the highly sought after Lion's Mane Mushroom. The foundation of this Kit is the Wood Based Mushroom Bag. This Bag formula is comprised mostly of a select mix of hardwoods especially formulated for wood loving mushrooms, supplemented with wheat bran, and small amounts of vermiculite for water retention. Each kit will include a 3cc inoculation plunger filled with Hericium erinaceus (Lion's Mane) culture, one small Wood Based Mushroom Bag, and a thin plastic, gusseted humidity tent. The Bag is shipped with all air removed for easy packing. Each Bag contains approximately 1 pound of wet sterilized substrate. The Lion’s Mane is a member of the unusual teethed fungi, which form tooth-like structures instead of gills. The mature mushrooms look like white, light-pink pom-poms and are often said to taste somewhat like lobster when cooked with butter. To use, simply unfold the Bag, allowing the extra material to stand straight up. Locate the small foam disk sealed and attached ina plastic housing near the base of the Bag. This disc is the self-healing injector site. Note: The disc will be covered by a small plastic shield. Do not attempt to remove the plastic covering the disc, you will inject through it. Sterilize a small section of the outside of the Bag (on the plastic shield) directly over the foam disc with an alcohol soaked wipe. With the same alcohol soaked wipe, sterilize the needle on your inoculation plunger. Inoculate the substrate (material inside the bag) with the inoculation plunger solution by inserting the needle through the plastic shield and foam disc at the previously sterilized spot. Squirt all 3cc of the culture solution directly into the substrate material. After injection, remove plunger from hole. The self-healing foam disc will seal the puncture site. DO NOT insert the needle through the white filter patch found near the top of the Bag. Place the kit's bag(s) in a dark location and incubate at 70-75F. It is recommend to store the bag fully extended as developing mycelia will give off gases that will slowly expand the interior of the Bag. This ballooning effect is crucial for proper air exchange and culture development. Note: During drier summer months it is advisable to store the Bag in a humid location. Excessively dry environments may draw moisture from the Bags. Because colonization will begin in the interior of the substrate material it may take between 14-20 days for you to notice the spreading of colonizing mycelium towards the outside of the Bag.
