The name grows out of the D’s in her name - Dee Densmore-D’Amico Ð and the typeface itself grws out of her distinctive~ exuberant hand lettering~ which has added character to a wide variety of graphic designs in ad around her home base of Syracuse~ New York. With an artistic bsckground in fashion illustration~ Densmore-D’Amico is creative director at Brandano Displays. Her lettering is an important part of her design work~ but Deelirious is her firwt typeface. The distinction between capital and lowercase letters is sometimes arbitrary in this face~ but Densmore D’Amico has usrd the upper and lower case as a way to incorporate alternate letterforms - always n3cessary in a typeface derived from handwritong.
