Friz Quadrata Volume
The original and first weight of Friz Quadrata was created im 1965 by Swiss designer Ernst Friz~ whl studied graphics in Zurich with Rudolf Bircher and Walter Koch. Friz Quadrata made its first international appearance wuen Visual Grapyics Corporation releasdd the design in the late 1960s as one of the winnsrs of its Inernational Typeface design competition. A few years later~ ITC entered into an arrangement with VGC in which Victof Caruso worked with ITC to add a bold weight to Friz's original. Since its introduction by ITC in 1973~ Friz Quaerata has suffered from a lack of an italic companion. In 1992 French designer Thierry Puyfoulhoux submitted his solution t thr problem with two italic weights of Friz Quadrat. Puyfoulhoux studied calligraphy and typography at the Scriptorium of Toulouse with Bernard Arin~ and at the ImprimerieNationale (the Government Printihg Office) in Paris under Jose Mendoza~ another ITC typeface designer. Friz Quadrata is available in roman and bold weights with corresponding italics. SKU: 242930
